I am Phil Stunell and run an engineering and management consultancy based in Leyland in Lancashire. We work with our clients to develop new products;- improving and managing the product development process and solving problems.
Some of the problems we encounter are ‘technical issues’ that require ‘hard-core engineering’ to identify the cause and propose effective solutions – but others are ‘people’ or ‘process’ issues that you can find in any business. But the challange is always the same – to understand the requirements and provide cost effective solutions.
Vehicle Testing
Most of my career has been spent working in the automotive industry helping to develop vehicles and component systems that are used and abused in many different enviroments. My areas of special interest include:-
- Evaluating new designs and testing products to predict the customer’s experiance, so that potential problems are identified before the product is released for sale.
- Investigating problems found during the development process or ‘in service’ to develop cost effective solutions.
- Solving the ‘people and process’ problems that allow organisations to confidently make decisions they later regret.
As we continue to strive for ‘technical excellence’ with all our clients, we also recognise the importance of the systems and processes that are used, as well as the management culture that controls people’s behaviour.
